Lower Sacramento River Trout 8/28/10

Myself, and a couple of  buddy’s, Paul and George drifted between Redding and Anderson Today. It rained from 7:30 AM to around 1PM and we got SOAKED. We also caught fish, 5 landed and over 20 more hookups. Above is a photo of my first trout on a fly rod, not a giant by no means but fun as heck to catch on a buggy whip. The largest fish landed we never got to photo, we dropped it in the water trying to photo it. This section of the Sac. is full of wild trout. Lower Saramento river Wild Trout Report 8/8/10

Fished Saturday 8/7/10 with my buddy Paul Harris on the Lower Sacramento river. We drifted  a section between Redding Ca. and Red Bluff Ca. Paul only landed this 1 wild rainbow that went almost 3lbs. ( the photo dose not do this fish justice) It took a back trolled F- 7 Flatfish.  We hooked fish on Rapalas, a fly (yes George a FLY), and other various plugs. For the day we hooked over 12 fish and only landed 1. If you would like to go get some wild trout give me a call and lets go fishin.

American River Shad Fishing 6/21/10

Took my self adopted dad Jack Harris fishing this evening for a belated fathers day and we had a great time. We hooked 10 or 12 and Jack landed 4. I still have a few days open this month so give me a call and let’s go fishing. (707)477-5174

American Shad Fishing 6/19/10

 Fished with my Buddy’s Mark from Downy Ca. and Mondo from Long beach Ca. today. We did a 7  to 9 mile drift and landed 7 with many more lost at the boat. Also my buddy Paul brought up his boat from Pleasanton and our two buddys Dan from Placerville and Jim from Santa Rosa fished with him also today, they only landed 3 with other hook up also. I still have a few days open this month so give me a call and let’s go fishing. American River Shad Fishing 6/18/10

 

 

 Fished with my buddy Jim from Santa Rosa this evening.  We only fished for a few hours and we landed 5 and lost 3 at the boat.  Wednesday I fished with my buddy George and we landed 4 and lost 3 or 4. The water flow has dropped  to 5500 CFS and with the flows down the water should start to warm up and the bite should pickup also. American River Shad Fishing 6/13/10

Mark and Jim Fished with me this evening and they both brought there sons Zak 4 years old and River 3 years old and we had a great time getting the young men into fish. They each landed 3, Jim landed 2 and Mark landed 2. What a kick in the shorts watching these two youngsters catch fish. The heat has helped the bite alot and it should only get better. I got a report from a buddy this evening that he landed 30 fish down river and I am hoping to fish that spot this week and hook up on some good numbers. Shad Fishing On the American River 6/12/10

I fished with Dave and Jason this evening who bought this trip at a fund raising auction for the National Turkey Federation.  It started right off with 2 fish landed and 1 lost at the boat in the first 1/2 hour. We ended up landing 7 fish  and losing 5 or 6 more. We had a great time and I hope both of them fish with me again some time.
